MAY - BACKGROUND & STENCIL CLASS
This month we were extremely lucky to get the wonderful Susie Coates to do a technique class on creating backgrounds for card making. Actually, some of her samples were like mini artworks, so perhaps there's another class for a bit later in the year!
I had no idea of the extent to which you can use stencils and re-inkers for making backgrounds!
These are the cards we made using the Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks (Stencils);
And here are the samples created by Susie using all sorts of materials and techniques to explore bespoke backgrounds suitable for all sorts of occasions. The techniques we learned would also be great for scrapbooking, 3D projects, off-the-page projects, and on goes the list.
How cute is this little box with the stenciled and embossed top?
And this smaller box covered in sparkly red embossing paste would make a fabulous package for a Christmas gift.
Be sure to check the calendar page for future class dates, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to learn more about paper crafting, purchase products, or try out a new hobby.
Main products you might like to try for making your own backgrounds:
Embossing Paste - available in Matte and Shimmery
Palette Knives - pack of 3
Inks & Colouring - you can find reinkers here, called Classic Stampin' Ink Refills
