BLACKOUT EMBOSSING
This is a great technique to use your embossing folders (EMBF) in a different way.
It works best with a 3D EMBF because you want a deeply etched image to work with.
Emboss a piece of white cardstock, then use markers to colour the debossed areas - you can use whatever colours you like with your design, and you might also like to leave some areas white for effect.
When you're happy with the results, use a brayer with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and roll over the design. The black ink will cover the raised areas only and really make the coloured sections pop!
You might need to go back in and touchup the debossed edges because depending on the pattern, they can be quite hard to see.

We did this technique in my May class. If you'd like to join me for classes, I teach in person, once a month in Annandale. Go to the Bookings page to reserve your spot.
